Potamogeton berchtoldii; The Small Pondweed is a rather small and fine Pondweed. The stems can grow to a length of 25cm or more.
- It has only submerged leaves which are linear up to 4cm long and 1½cm wide.
- The terminal inflorescences appear above water and are almost round in shape.
- It grows in shallow fresh water. It is found in many locations in the lowland regions.
- It is a member of the Potamogetonaceae, the Pondweed family. The Icelandic name for this species is Smánykra.
