FLORA OF ICELAND elements: Veronica scutellata, marsh speedwell

Veronica scutellata; The Marsh Speedwell grows on wet soils, sometimes even submerged in water befor this dries up in summer. Basically it can be found in a broad band along the coast of the island. As a speedwell with blue flowers it can be easily identified from other speedwells by the lanceolate leaves.
It is a member of the figwort family (Scrophulariaceae).
