FLORA OF ICELAND elements: Tofieldia pusilla, Scottish Asphodel

Tofieldia pusilla; the Scottish asphodel is a small plant that can be found in all parts of Iceland. The plant can easily be identified from any other plant on Iceland as it is the only plant that has its leaves arranged in one curved plane. It grows in rather moist (not wet) heathers and grasslands. It is a member of the lily family (Liliaceae).
