FLORA OF ICELAND elements: Saxifraga aizoides, yellow saxifrage

Saxifraga aizoides; the yellow saxifrage is a species that grows only in eastern iceland. Along the south coast it ranges only as far as Skaftafell. The starry yellow flowers are very characteristic. It is a member of the saxifrage family (Saxifragaceae).
